Holbrook Museum

Step into Holbrook’s rich past at the Navajo County Historical Society, located in the Historic Navajo County Courthouse at the northeast corner of East Arizona Street and Navajo Boulevard, Holbrook, AZ 86025. This iconic courthouse, a National Register of Historic Places landmark, also houses the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce and the Old West Museum, offering a captivating journey through the region’s storied history.

Visiting Hours:

  • Winter: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Summer: Hours may vary due to nightly Indian dance performances on the courthouse lawn. Call 928-524-6558 for updated summer schedules.

The courthouse, operational for 78 years as Navajo County’s justice hub, hosted notorious trials and one historic hanging in its courtyard. Since 1981, after county offices relocated, the Navajo County Historical Society has transformed the building into a vibrant museum. Local residents have donated furniture, keepsakes, and family heirlooms, creating a “grandma’s attic” filled with Native American artifacts, Route 66 memorabilia, and relics of Holbrook’s Wild West days, including an old jail with inmate artwork.
