Introduction
Holbrook is home to many brave men and women who have served our country, and this year our community came together in a special way to show our appreciation.
You might have already noticed the new banners proudly displayed throughout town, each one featuring a local veteran who has given their service to protect our freedoms.
Families and friends from across Holbrook shared photos of their loved ones in uniform.
Every Photo Tells a Story
These images each capture a powerful moment in their lives and remind us of the courage and sacrifice behind every veteran’s story.
We also received photos from veterans like James “Michael” Darbe, a Vietnam War veteran who served in the United States Air Force and reached the rank of Master Sergeant.
His photo didn’t make it into this year’s banner installation, but we are grateful for his service and plan to include him in future displays.

Thank You to Our Veterans — and Our Community
This project wouldn’t have been possible without the help of so many people in our community who gathered information, submitted photos, and helped install the banners.
With special thanks and gratitude to Kellie Spangler who worked tirelessly to create each and everyone of these custom banners!
It truly became a team effort filled with pride and gratitude for the veterans who call Holbrook home.
To all who have served, thank you.
To the families who support them, thank you.
And to everyone who helped bring this idea to life, thank you for making this tribute something our whole community can be proud of.

How to Participate Next Year
If you missed the submission deadline this time, please don’t worry you can still submit your veterans information so we have it available for next year.
We hope to continue and grow this new tradition, and we look forward to including even more veterans in the future.
Holbrook honors and appreciates its heroes. Today and every day.
